Substance Abuse is often used by survivors to help block out painful memories.  However, if you have become reliant on a substance, tackling the issues of rape or abuse with your therapist can be hindered.

Our specialist Drug & Alcohol counsellor will help you to resolve issues you may have with substance abuse and enable you to progress through the other stages of recovery.  You may wish to continue follow up sessions with another counsellor focusing on recovery from trauma, or you may feel ready to join a support group with other survivors.

Everyone is different, and you can discuss with your counsellor the best way forward for you.
